Terms of Service

Last updated 18 August 2026

These terms govern your use of EasyTakeoff. They are written to be read, not to be survived — if anything here is unclear, ask us before relying on it.

The service

EasyTakeoff processes construction drawings you upload and produces counts of the symbols found on them, with a review queue for the cases the software is not certain about, and exports of the resulting schedule.

EasyTakeoff is currently in early access. Access is by invitation, features change without notice, and the service is provided free of charge for now. We will give reasonable notice before charging for anything.

The most important term: verify the numbers

EasyTakeoff is an assistive tool, not a substitute for professional judgement. Automated counting can miss symbols, count them twice, or classify them incorrectly — particularly on scanned, annotated, unusual or poor-quality drawings. You are responsible for checking the output before relying on it. Do not submit a tender, place an order, or make any commercial commitment on the basis of counts you have not verified.

The review queue and the traceability of each count back to its sheet exist precisely so that checking is practical. We deliberately design the software to suppress uncertain matches rather than inflate a total, but no automated system reaches perfect accuracy and we do not warrant that it does.

Accounts

Your content

The drawings you upload and everything derived from them remain yours. We claim no ownership over them.

You grant us a limited licence to store, process, render and analyse those files strictly for the purpose of providing the service to you — including, where you choose to use the AI features, sending cropped regions of a drawing to a third-party vision provider as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your drawings to train models, and we do not share them with anyone other than the processors listed in that policy.

You confirm that you have the right to upload each file, and that doing so does not breach a confidentiality obligation you owe to a client or third party.

Acceptable use

We may suspend an account that puts the service or other customers at risk.

Availability

We aim to keep EasyTakeoff running and monitor it continuously — current and historical availability is published at our status page. During early access we offer no service level agreement. The service runs on a single instance, maintenance may cause interruptions, and processing large packages can be slow. Keep your own copies of source drawings; do not treat EasyTakeoff as your only store of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Fees

Early access is free. When paid plans launch, prices, billing period and payment terms will be presented before you subscribe, payments will be processed by Stripe, and subscriptions will renew until cancelled. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the paid period. We do not refund part-used periods unless the law requires it.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from account settings. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of these terms, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we will give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your data.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, and given that the service is provided free during early access: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, nor for loss of profit, revenue, contracts, anticipated savings, goodwill or data — including, specifically, losses arising from a tender priced on counts that were not verified. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or £100.

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product develops. The date at the top will change, and for material changes we will notify account holders. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
